Concentrates - Compared

There are a lot of products on the market for use in automated misting systems.  We recommend two different types of concentrates based on the application needs and environmental concerns related to the specific system you have.

Pyrethrum based products

Two basic differences exist in Pyrethrum products for misting system use.   Some products are water based, some are oil based.   We only carry water based Pyrethrums because, in our experience, oil based products tend to burn plants and grass.  This happens because the oil 'sticks' to the foliage where a water based product will wash off.

The Pyrethrum products we currently offer are:

Hydro-PY 300 ULV

Vampyre ULV

A major caution is advised regarding Pyrethrum based products.  THEY SHOULD NOT BE USED NEAR OR AROUND AQUATIC LIFE.  Pyrethrum is very toxic to fish and other aquatic life, so care in application is stressed.   If your application is near any aquatic life, we recommend you consider using our non-pyrethrum products made from essential oils.

NON-Pyrethrum based products

We offer a non-pyrethrum product that is about as effective as Pyrethrum, but does not hurt aquatic life.   The major drawback to these products is they are made from 'essential oils'.  These oil based products require agitation in order to stay mixed in the misting tank, so we can only recommend them for use in systems equipped with agitation systems.
