Installation

Overall size and complexity will determine how long it will take to install your MistAway system™.  Installations generally take 10 to 15 minutes per nozzle. A typical installation can be installed in  less than one day.

TOOLS: ladder, screwdriver, pliers, drill, tube cutter, tube release tool.

DRUM SYSTEM SETUP: The reservoir must be placed on level and stable ground convenient to a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) power source.  It must also be located in an area that can be reached by a garden hose.  The system can be installed outside or inside a garage, shed, or basement. It is VERY important that you make sure the ground on which the reservoir will be located is level and will remain so under the weight of the filled reservoir and under inclement weather conditions. The reservoir will be heavy when filled with the diluted misting solution. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury or damage to the system.

TANKLESS SYSTEM SETUP:  The Tankless unit must be placed on level and stable ground convenient to both a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) power source and to a hose bib. The system can be installed outside or inside a garage, shed, or basement. It is important that you make sure the ground on which the tankless system will be located is level and will remain so.  A level surface helps the system operate correctly. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury or damage to the system.

TUBING AND NOZZLE INSTALLATION: Once the system unit has been installed, the tubing lines can be run to the identified nozzle locations. We recommend the nozzles be installed 15 feet apart. Click here for detailed instructions on installing tubing and nozzles.

TESTING YOUR SYSTEM: The system should be tested prior to loading misting solutions. Ensure there are no leaks and that all nozzles and valves are operating properly. Please follow the instructions in the manual.

LOADING THE MISTING SOLUTION: After verifying the system is operating properly, the misting solution can be added.

  • Drum system – remove the large white cap from the top of the system. Do not remove the system lid. Using a hose, fill the drum half way with water. Before loading the concentrates put on safety goggles and gloves. When drum is half full, remove hose and place a funnel into the opening. Slowly pour in a manufacturer approved misting solution into the funnel. Remove funnel. Replace hose into the opening and begin filling with water until the liquid level reaches just below the top or the system reads 100% full

  • Tankless system – please see manual for instructions on inserting misting solution cartridge.

PROGRAMMING MISTING CYCLES: Set the timer per manufacturer’s instructions with times tailored to your specific installation.

INITIAL OPERATION: Please be advised, that a large number of insects may be seen on the ground for the first week as the overall insect population is reduced by your new system.  It can take up to two weeks to see the full effect of the system.
